Zoning Inspections 

Plainfield Township Zoning Staff will be conducting zoning inspections prior to the final building inspection for new homes and new commercial buildings. Please contact the Community Development Department to set up all zoning inspections at least 24 hours prior to the requested inspection time: 616-364-1190 or communitydevelopment@plainfieldmi.org. The building inspector will need zoning sign off prior to issuing occupancy.

what we doThe Community Development Department, (616) 364-1190, manages all the planning and zoning-related policies, applications, plan reviews, and ordinances. We work with developers and homeowners on what to build, where to build, and how development affects the surrounding community. 

The Community Development staff also acts as a liaison for the Planning Commission and the Zoning Board of Appeals.
